Michael Weston (Head Green Keeper) and his team Rod Cassar & Ondrej Vaigelt use this page throughout the year to update members and non-members with any additional works to their usual duties that they will be carrying out each month to improve the playing conditions and your experience as a golfer.
Throughout January we made a conscious effort to collect leaves throughout the course whilst carrying on the regularly duties of the day to day maintenance of the course.
During February, Michael and his team have been digging a trench alongside the pathway from the gate to the shoe cleaning area in preparation of laying electrics for a new shoe air cleaning spray.
This is exiting news as muddy conditions will no longer mean dirty trolleys in the boot of your car.
Michael has taken delivery of a new John Deere rough cutter which will produce a better uniform cut around the course. This machine also carries the capability of attaching other appliances such as blowing kit and many more.
Normal cutting programme resumes after winter conditions and Michael and his team are looking forward to all areas being cut and treatment to greens to improve playing conditions.
We anticipate being back on main tee boxes by week commencing 23rd April. Unusual weather conditions the last few weeks have delayed the maintenance programme.
The green staff will be trying the new maintenance schedule.
