This very popular event has been going for over 10 years and is played each Thursday evening from the 1st of April until the 30th of September.
The founders are Pam and Nobby Clarke and they run the weekly competition although from 2016 David Lloyd Hampton Golf Club will run the administration.
Both Golf Club members and non-members are more than welcome. Just turn up at 16.45 when golf balls will be drawn “out of the hat”. This ensures players will play with different golfers each week and forge new friendships.
DLHGC members will play off half their 18 hole club handicap the first time they play and any new non-members will be given a temporary handicap on the day. After each competition players handicaps will be adjusted in accordance with the Conditions of Play but official club handicaps will not be affected.
The entrance fee is £3 per week. £2 goes towards the stableford and £1 is for the twos pot. All entrants should meet in the bar afterwards when the prize money will be handed out.
There is also an Order of Merit where the each player’s best 12 stableford scores count towards the league table. Points are awarded each week as follows: 1st = 10, 2nd = 8 etc.
